Tell us a little about your care philosophy:

Chiropractic care is an essential complement to allopathic medical treatment in that we support and promote functional improvement in the body, and in many cases can prevent conditions from worsening to the point of actual pathology. We specialize in the conservative care of the spine and nervous system, but our work includes attention to all joints and other tissues. While most patients initially begin care due to injury, pain or other dysfunction by educating patients in the benefits of periodic wellness visits. We can empower them to continue experiencing improved function beyond the absence of symptoms.

Tell us about the specific conditions you treat:

The most common issues people come to me with include mid and low back pain, sciatica, TMJ, neck and head pain, extremity issues and digestive problems.

Tell us about the procedures you employ:

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) is the primary approach I use. This enables me to address the three primary sacroiliac and lumbo-sacral lesions that humans can experience (the category system). I am also able to assist patients with visceral involvement that in many cases can be related to chronic subluxation patterns. I also adjust extremities as indicated. When appropriate, I utilize supplementation from Standard Process. In many cases I also provide postural instruction based on a model of good posture that was derived from research in to healthy populations.

Tell us about your hobbies/family/interests:

I moved to the Nambe area seven years ago from northern CA – East Bay where I spent the first 20 years of my practice after graduating from Life Chiropractic College – West in 1992. I have been a practitioner of Wisdom Healing (Zhineng) Qigong studying with Master Mingtong Ge of the Chi Center in Galisteo, NM for the past three years. (Over this time I have become increasingly amazed at how much the ancient Chinese knew about the spine and the central importance of nervous system function.) I also like to walk, hike and cook organic food with my sweetheart Susan. I am an active member of UU (Unitarian Universalist) Congregation of Santa Fe. I have a twenty-five year old son Matthew who lives in Brooklyn where he does sound recording for film and video.
